Published: 27 March, 2009
Sinn Féin Dundalk Town Councillor Harry Todd has welcomed developments which have allowed for the re-opening of Ashling Park in Dundalk.
Cllr Todd says
"I put forward a motion at Tuesdays meeting of the council calling for the re-opening of Ashling Park which has been closed to the public since early January because of the actions of a few.
"I am pleased to learn from the Town Clerk today that the park has now been re-opened and that the large boulders which had been placed by the council are to be removed in the coming days.
"This is a wonderful amenity that can be enjoyed by the whole community and am calling on everyone to treat it respectfully.
"I have received a committment from the Gardai that they will play their part in ensuring that the park is kept open."
